Some unfortunate news just surfaced ahead of game seven between the St. Louis Blues and Winnipeg Jets.

After dominating the Winnipeg Jets in game six to force a game seven, the Winnipeg Jets just received some unfortunate news heading into the biggest game of their year.
This morning it was announced that star forward Mark Scheifele will not be healthy enough to play in the elimination game today. There was some speculation that he was going to be an option for the Jets, but it was just confirmed he will not be able to suit up.
The Winnipeg Jets received grim news to start their Sunday, as it's been revealed that star center Mark Scheifele won't be health enough to dress for Game 7, per Ken Wiebe of the Winnipeg Free Press.

Mark Scheifele is OUT for Game 7 ❌
This news could be game changing. The Jets lost Scheifele for game 6 and it showed how much they missed him. Now they will have to try and win an elimination game without and it's going to be tough.
This will definitely benefit the St. Louis Blues and Jim Montgomery entering enemy territory tonight.
Scheifele ended up leaving game 5 injured in the first period after being on the receiving end of a couple big hits for Montgomery's captain, Brayden Schenn.
After sitting out during game six, Scheifele did end up skating during Saturday's morning practice, but will not be able to play.
It was also reported that Winnipeg Jets defenseman Logan Stanley will also be a game-time decision and may miss one of their most important games of the year.
Losing Scheifele is a huge loss, he appeared in all 82 games of the season this year, scoring 39 goals, and finished the year with 87 points. Both of those totals were good for second on the team only behind Kyle Connor who scored 41 goals, and had 97 points.
His strong regular season carried over into the playoffs where he ended up picking up two goals, 4 assists for six points in five games before being injured.
Tonight's game is going to be a battle for the Winnipeg Jets being down possibily two big players. If Hellebuyck can play his game for once, the Jets may be able to beat the odds tonight.
