With the Boston Bruins possibly looking to move on from Jeremy Swayman in the off-season, an NHL insider revealed the potential return the organization could get back if Swayman was traded to the Edmonton Oilers.

The Edmonton Oilers have needed an upgrade in goal for awhile now, and there is some speculation that they are going to do so in the off-season, and one of the bigger names available is Jeremy Swayman.
Swayman had a terrible season with the Boston Bruins and the organization may look to make some big changes in effort to bounce back next year.
With all the noise around Swayman's name this year, there has been a lot of speculation that they may end up trading him, and if they do the Oilers may be ready to move on from Skinner after already taking him out for backup goaltender Calvin Pickard in the playoffs.

Insider Links The Edmonton Oilers To Jeremy Swayman

Insider Adam Gretz of the Bleacher Report had this to say:
«If there is a team that is going to be in the market for a blockbuster goalie move this offseason, the Oilers have to be near the top of the list. It is a position that has been a weakness for years, and they have not made a meaningful attempt to fix it since signing Jack Campbell in free agency a few years ago (a move that did not go well for anybody).»

The scribe notes that Skinner continues to prove he is not the answer in Edmonton, and despite the Oilers' status as a contender, how long can they go without a legitimate starter? He writes,

«they can't keep going more years with Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl without winning a championship.»

Proposed Return For Swayman

The Boston Bruins just signed Jeremy Swayman to a eight-year, $8.25 million contract extension, and the Oilers would have to move out some cap to make this deal happen.
Gretz adds: «Here's an idea: The Oilers need goaltending help. The Bruins need center help. Something centered around Swayman and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins? Yes? No? Maybe?»

With the Bruins needing help down the middle, and the Edmonton Oilers needing help in goal, this trade could make sense for both sides.
