Boston Bruins Brad Marchand Sends Team USA A Warning Ahead of 4 Nation Faceoff
The Boston Bruins will have multiple players competing in the Four Nations Face-Off happening in February. Bruins Captain Brad Marchand issued a statement that read like a promo written for an old-school wrestling promotion.
Brad Marchand hasn't won a Stanley Cup with the Bruins since 2011, but he and the team continue to stay competitive after all these years.
This year, NHL fans will get to see a best-on-best International Tournament, as the Bruins star will be rostered by Canada.
Marchand sounded deadly serious about how Team Canada is approaching Team USA in the 4NFO.
"Guys are going to be out for blood," said the Bruins captain.
Even then, Marchand expects the competition to be fierce, considering how many top NHL Stars are spread across teams in the Four Nations Face-Off.
"You look at the teams that are match up and they're all stacked," said Marchand. "You can pick out of a hat who can win that tournament. They're all incredible groups."
After Team Canada just got throttled in the WJC Marchand is sure the team will have to pick up the pieces and perform to a higher caliber than their junior counterparts.
"Extremely high expectations," admitted Marchand. "You want to make your country and your team proud."
Ironically, the tournament will take place in Boston and Montreal, and he's looking forward to not being booed in Bell Centre for once.
All bets are off when it comes to international competition, as the Montreal faithful can't wait to Marchand terrorize his opponents on the ice.
In 2016, Marchand played for Team Canada during the World Cup of Hockey and scored 8 points(3 G, 5 A) in 10 games.
Team Canada would prevail, and win the tournament.
Can they do better than their junior brethren in this tournament? There is considerably less competition, as the nations involved are: Sweden, Finland, the USA, and Canada.
