The Boston Bruins lost a tough game against a divisional rival Saturday night. Entering the third period with a 4-3 lead, the Bruins would end up making it 5-3, but would give up two late goals, allowing the Senators to tie the game.
Overtime between the two divisional rivals was pure chaos, back and forth chances for both teams, but they would ultimately need shootout, where the Bruins would end up losing 6-5.
During overtime, Boston Bruins head coach Joe Sacco decided to discipline Brad Marchand.
Many believed that Brad Marchand may be dealing with a injury because he didn't see a single second of ice time during overtime, and didn't get put out for the shootout, but Joe Sacco later on cleared the air.
When asked why Brad Marchand didn't play in overtime in such an important game, Joe Sacco revealed that it was a coaching decision, and that he wasn't dealing with any type of injury.
After practice today, Brad Marchand ended up responding to Joe Sacco benching him last night, and instead of making excuses, the captain took accountability and stated that he needs to be better next time.
