For their first game of the New Year, the Boston Bruins will be facing off against a struggling New York Rangers for an Original Six matchup and their starting goaltender was just confirmed.
The Bruins have confirmed some surprising changes to their lineup since their game against the Washington Capitals on New Years Eve, but it was confirmed that there will be no change in who is guarding the crease for the Boston Bruins.
Following their morning skate this morning Boston Bruins goaltender Jeremy Swayman was the first goalie off of the ice indicating that he will be the starter for tonight's Original Six matchup.
Head coach Joe Sacco also confirmed that Oliver Wahlstrom will be slotting back into the lineup tonight for the Boston Bruins after being healthy scratched the previous two games for the Bruins.
On the other hand Bruins young forward Marc McLaughlin will be coming out of the Boston Bruins lineup with Wahlstrom coming back.
Wahlstrom who has been playing on the third line with Trent Frederic, and Justin Brazeau will now have some new line mates as Joe Sacco stated he will be playing on the Bruins fourth line tonight.
The New York Rangers received some horrible news the other day as they will be without star goaltender Igor Shesterkin who was just placed on Injury Reserved by the Rangers after suffering a upper-body injury.
