Yesterday it was announced that the New York Rangers will be without one of their star players as they have officially placed him on Injury Reserved.
The New York Rangers made the announcement that star goaltender Igor Shesterkin was being placed on Injury Reserved after suffering an upper-body injury that he suffered in their previous game against the Florida Panthers.
This is horrible news for the New York Rangers who have been struggling after their General Manager Chris Drury publicly called out the Rangers earlier on in the season and listed multiple veterans as trade candidates including their captain Jacob Trouba who was traded recently.
This is big news for the Boston Bruins though as Igor Shesterkin has played a big role in why the Rangers have won most of their games this year, and without him the Rangers will be put to a big test tonight.
Heading into tonight's game the Bruins have also announced some pretty big changes as Oliver Wahlstrom will be coming back into the lineup whereas Marc McLaughlin will be healthy scratched.
The Rangers who once sit atop of the Metropolitan Division at the beginning of the year now sit dead last, and 28th in the league.
The Bruins are looking to bounce back from a tough loss against the Washington Capitals when they step onto the ice at Madison Square Garden tonight.
