Having played for the Oilers and then moved to the Detroit Red Wings, Yamamoto was pegged to be a top six player after producing 26 points in 27 games during the 2019-2020 season. He then went on to have a down season the following year then bounced back in 2022 with twenty goals and 21 assists in 81 games.
It seems no matter which team he goes to he doesn't seemed to stick which could be an opportunity for the Bruins who are looking for secondary scoring in their offense. With the offence fairly depleted after their first line, the Bruins could use a player like Yamamoto as he could be signed for a low cost below $2,000,000 a season.
