The Boston Bruins are missing a key player from practice this morning and it's not good news.
Today the Boston Bruins announced that they have recalled Vinnie Lettieri from the Providence Bruins in the American Hockey League, and it seems like Mark Kastelic's injury may be a lot worse then some expected.
Mark Kastelic missed the Bruins practice on Friday, when the team was gearing up to take on the Florida Panthers, and it was just revealed that he will miss Boston's practice today as well.
No Mark Kastelic (upper body) at Bruins practice today.
Kastelic was injured after being cross-checked in the face by Lightning's Emil Lilleberg, and then had his head slammed off of the ice after fighting Lilleberg and was wobbly after getting up from the fight.
Do not like the way Mark Kastelic was standing after that one.
After getting up from the fight with Emil Lilleberg, Mark Kastelic had to be helped to the bench from Bruins defenseman Parker Wotherspoon, and he has yet to return to the Bruins since suffering this injury.
Originally interim head coach Joe Sacco labelled Mark Kastelic as day-to-day, but Kastelic's injury may be more serious then it was originally thought.
🎥 Coach Sacco on Mark Kastelic: "He didn't practice today. We're taking it day by day with him right now and see how he feels. Got caught up in that incident last night and whacked his head on the ice. We're just taking it day by day and see how he feels."
