The Boston Bruins just made a controversial decision on their starting goaltender tonight and it was confirmed.
The Boston Bruins are looking to take on one of their biggest rivals in the Toronto Maple Leafs tonight, and earlier this morning some injury news was reported and it's going to change things tonight.
It was confirmed by Auston Matthews himself, and multiple other sources, that he will be returning to the Toronto Maple Leafs lineup tonight after being out since before the holiday break at Christmas time.
"The last couple skates I've had have felt good."
Following their morning skate the Boston Bruins confirmed their starting goaltender, and it was definitely a controversial decision.
Jeremy Swayman, once again was the first goaltender off the ice this morning following their practice, indicating that he will get the start in net for the Boston Bruins tonight.
Jeremy Swayman has been the starting goaltender for the Bruins previous three games where he has only won one of those games and it came against the Columbus Blue Jackets.
There has been a lot of chatter around the Bruins, that they should give Joonas Korpisalo more starts especially since Jeremy Swayman has a terrible record when starting three or more games in a row, but it seems like Joe Sacco feels like Swayman has deserved this.
Another thing is Jeremy Swayman is still not playing up to his contract he signed in the off-season. Joe Sacco may be trying to play him more to get him to find his game, but it's clearly not working for him.
