Boston Bruins officially complete a move with top-six forward Pavel Zacha
There are a lot of question marks surrounding the Boston Bruins lineup entering the new season, but one a move was just completed with Pavel Zacha, and we now know where he will play to begin the season.
After hiring a new head coach, and bringing in a bunch of new faces, the 2025-26 season is going to be an interesting one for the Boston Bruins.
Last season, Zacha ended up bouncing back and forth between playing on the wing, and playing at center.
We now know where head coach Marco Sturm wants him to begin the season.
Zacha to play center to begin the season for the Bruins
According to reports, Pavel Zacha is going to begin the season down the middle for the Boston Bruins.
Pavel Zacha confirmed that Sturm plans on starting him out at center rather than wing. Based off training camp so far, I could see the center group looking like this to start the season:
1C -
Elias Lindholm2C - Pavel Zacha
3C -
Casey Mittelstadt 4C -
Sean Kuraly
The middle was a place where the Bruins struggled last season, as they did not have a lot of depth.
The Bruins are hopeful that this decision will be beneficial for them.
Last season,
Zacha saw a big dip in offensive production, scoring just 47 points, which was a dip from his past two seasons, where he almost had 60 points in both years.
Moving him to center, Sturm is hopeful that this will boost his offensive output, as the Bruins were lacking secondary scoring last season.
With Zacha taking the 2C role, this could give room for Casey Mittelstadt to slot into the middle six, and give the Bruins the depth that they need entering the new year.
«He said he likes me as a center, but if he needs me as a winger, he's going to talk to me ahead of time and tell me what my situation is going to be,» said Zacha of Sturm. «But he said at the start of training camp, I'll be at center, and we'll go from there.»
