The Boston Bruins remain in a playoff spot, despite their -20 goal differential and a power play ranked 25th in the league.
The team's power play needs an upgrade at 13.4%, and with those notes, they could add a major piece at the trade deadline.
If things change for the worst, they could move several players ahead of the March trade deadline.
The Bruins do have some assets that could yield a nice return, as Morgan Geekie and Trent Frederic have been named as two of the Bruins' top trade candidates.
While the veterans could cost significantly more, the Geekies and Frederics of the world would be a valuable addition to any contender or rebuilding team.
One other name whose been floated around recently is Captain Brad Marchand, who at age 36 could yield a significant return for the Bruins.
NHL Insider Conor Ryan speculates that the Bruins could target Elias Pettersson, Alex Tuch, or the Flyers' Joel Farabee.
As it stands now, the Bruins are 4th in the Atlantic Division.
The team could find significant players to retool the lineup with in March, but they'll have to decide what Bruins veterans to prioritize ahead of time.
Chances are we'll never know who's on the move until it happens.
