According to NHL Insider Jimmy Murphy, Don Sweeney's firing of Jim Montgomery is only one of his many firable offenses.

The St. Louis Blues have turned into an underdog in the NHL thanks to the help of Jim Montgomery. If not for his firing, he wouldn't have had the time to help turn the team into a well-oiled machine, going on a twelve-game winning streak lately.
While Montgomery's start with the Bruins wasn't great, an 8-9-3 beginning, he did what no one expected: turn a team that was underdogs into a fringe playoff contender.
Now, Jimmy Murphy of the Sick Podcast is tired of Don Sweeney's rule over the Bruins and believes this should be a fireable offense.
Montgomery's record with the Blues today? 33-16-6, and 4th in the Central Division.
The Blues now hold the 1st wild card spot in the West, with a record of 43-28-7. Quite a respectable turnaround for a head coach who was thought to have exited the organization due to the fact he didn't want to coach here.
The narratives smell funny, and Murphy was right to call Don Sweeney out for it.
This is just one of many of Sweeney's fireable offenses in 2024, but it's doubtful we'll ever see him suffer the consequences.
Now, Cam Neely is going to let him retool a lineup that has underperformed, with a coach who doesn't have the same skills or pedigree as Jim Montgomery in the NHL.
Sacco has a record of 23-29-6, and could find himself out of a job in July.
