Boston Bruins to announce a contract: Two players have emerged as candidates

Throughout their years, the Boston Bruins have not been afraid to sign players to professional tryout contracts (PTOs), and according to the Hockey News, there are two players that could be candidates for the Bruins.

Over the past couple of years, the Bruins have signed players to PTOs with Tyler Johnson being one of the latest last year.

With that being said, The Hockey News listed two players the Bruins could sign to PTOs before the beginning of the season.

Entering the new season, it's no secret that the Boston Bruins need to add more skill to their forward group.

Adding a former 30-goal scorer like Andreas Athanasiou could change things for the Boston Bruins.

After spending most of the season in the AHL in 2024-25, Anthanasiou still remains a free agent.

He appeared in eight games with the Chicago Blackhawks where he scored just one goal.

Just two years ago, Athanasiou ended up scoring 20 goals, and 40 points in 81 games, and could have a bounce back if given another chance.

Fabbri is another forward with skill that is looking for a new home after spending last year with the Anaheim Ducks.

He ended up scoring eight goals and 16 points in 44 games after suffering an injury that held him out for most of the year.

In 2023-24, Fabbri ended up scoring 18 goals and 32 points in 68 games with the Red Wings, and could also have a bounce back if given another chance.
