Boston Bruins to officially retire a fan favourites jersey

The Boston Bruins shocked many this morning whenever they revealed that they are going to be retiring the number of a fan favourite.
In the off-season the Boston Bruins ended up hiring Zdeno Chara, bringing him back to the organization.
Just now, the Boston Bruins ended announcing that Zdeno Chara's jersey will be retired by the organization.
The Bruins revealed that his jersey will be hung into the rafters on January 15th, 2026.
Chara's number 33 would become the 13th player to have his jersey retired in the organization.
Taking its rightful place in the rafters.

Bruins management speak on Chara having his jersey retired
After announcing that Chara's jersey was going to be retired, Bruins management spoke out on it, and had this to say:
«From the moment he arrived in Boston in 2006, Zdeno Chara brought with him an unmatched presence, combining size, strength, and skill with a leadership style that elevated everyone around him,» said Bruins President Cam Neely. «Zdeno set the standard with his professionalism, his legendary work ethic and his fierce competitiveness, and he did it all while representing our organization with the utmost class. As someone who has experienced what it means to have your number hanging in the rafters, I can say without a doubt that Zdeno's No. 33 belongs there. It will serve as a permanent reminder of his place as one of the greatest Bruins of all time.»
