New report unveils the Boston Bruins may be set to trade fan-favourite forward, David Pastrnak, and it's shocking.
Since the Boston Bruins traded off their 16-year veteran captain, Brad Marchand, in March during the 2025 NHL Trade Deadline, the organization is still yet to name a new leader to wear the "C" on their chest.
Due to this, rumors began to circulate, speculating who this Original Six franchise would choose to replace their former captain.
Immediately, many came to the assumption that this organization would name their highly skilled forward, David Pastrnak, as their new and improved captain, however, nothing has come to motion, as the Bruins are still currently captain-less.
Boston Bruins speculated to have different plans for David Pastrnak
In a recent podcast with Boston Bruins reporter, Jimmy Murphy, it was revealed that the Boston Bruins may actually have intent to trade Pastrnak rather than name him captain.
This was revealed on social media via "X".
Take a look:
"Would the #Bruins Really Trade David Pastrňák?
@MurphysLaw74 : «If you don't put the damn 'C' on David Pastrňák ASAP - or by the end of the season at the latest - then I'm convinced they're trading him.»
The main argument here is that, if the Boston Bruins had clear intent to keep David Pastrnak on the roster, they would name him the leader of the organization, as players within the lineup already look up to this talent.
However, if they continue to hold off, it signals a potential trade may be on the rise.
