On November 11, the
Boston Bruins took on the ice against their divisional rivals, Toronto Maple Leafs, where they would take home a 5-3 win.
However, during this matchup, Boston Bruins' starting net-minder,
Jeremy Swayman, would go to let a goal slide through in a play that should have never erupted.
As it was arguably caused by Bruins' assistant captain, Charlie McAvoy.
Boston Bruins' Charlie McAvoy faces major backlash
During the Boston Bruins' power play, Swayman passed the puck directly to Charlie McAvoy, and he seemingly choked.
This led to the Maple Leafs stealing the puck and scoring within seconds.
Take a look at the play and what fans are saying:
"with McAvoy doing this and Hampus scoring instead of this, I would like to see the switch of PP QB be made permanent.
I'll hang up and listen"
"There is a certain point where you have to try someone else as the first unit's QB."
Boston Bruins fans and reporters claim Charlie McAvoy should be demoted
Due to the unfortunate play that erupted during the Bruins' power play, fans and reporters are beginning to believe Charlie McAvoy should no longer be on Boston's top power play unit.
