Boston Bruins trade a star forward to a divisional rival: The return was just revealed
New insight has unveiled what the Boston Bruins are expected to receive from their division rival for the organization's recently traded star forward.
With all this speculation circling around in rumors, it is nice to actually hear factual reporting, and we just got that from Marco D'Amico, a Montreal Canadiens reporter.
Is
Jason Robertson set to head to the Bruins, or will we see Jonathan Toews discuss his future in the NHL with Boston?
It all depends on prices these days, especially with the salary cap going up, teams may be more lenient moving forward.
That may not be the case for the Boston Bruins trading away
Pavel Zacha, as GM Don Sweeney fully expects huge value out of his center.
According to D'Amico the Montreal Canadiens are inquiring about the 60-point forward.
But what would it cost them?
D'Amico has stated the price, and it's surprising.
"I can see those players [Pavel Zacha and
William Karlsson ] being traded for a second-round pick and a prospect."
- Marco D'Amico
Going from
David Pastrnak's projected linemate to a trade chip for a second round pick and a prospect could be a tough pill to swallow for Bruins fans.
According to a source, the Habs would be willing to do this offer as well.
He would be a very solid second line center for the Montreal Canadiens, and a veteran amongst their young forward group.
The prospect returning to the Bruins? It would be
Filip Mesar.
Zacha is signed until 2027 under the Boston Bruins currently for under five million AAV per season, any team who lands such a deal for a top 6 centerman will be quite lucky.
Consider upping your prices, Don Sweeney.
