Brad Marchand recently made some comments regarding his future in the NHL, and it has caused some big speculation.
His comments have revealed that there may be a good chance that he remains with the Florida Panthers, possibly signing a contract extension.
After acquiring Brad Marchand for just a conditional second-round pick, it's safe to say that the Panthers have gotten their money's worth for him.
The Boston Bruins and Brad Marchand were not able to agree on a new contract during the NHL trade deadline, which ultimately led to him
requesting a trade to the Florida Panthers.
Now
Marchand is set to become a UFA after the Stanley Cup Finals, and there has been some major speculation about where he could land.
Marchand Coming Back To Boston? Or Signing With The Panthers
With how things ended between the Bruins and Marchand, it's hard to see him wanting to come back to the organization. His recent comments have also suggested that he is considering re-signing with the Florida Panthers after this season:
There are teams where that absolutely matters. It doesn't matter for every player, but when you're dealing with guys that have a choice between multiple teams, it absolutely plays a part. If you have two teams that are offering the same contract, you're going to pick the team with less tax.
Yeah, I've thought about it. But we'll deal with that in the future.
Marchand has been a huge piece to their success having 17 points, 7 goals, and 10 assists in 19 playoff games for the Florida Panthers, and it'll be hard to see them not wanting to keep him around.
