Providence entered the AHL playoffs with a first-round bye for being Atlantic Division Champions. However, the ''Jr. Bs'' saw themselves down 2-0 in a best-of-five against the underdog Hartford Wolf Pack coming into Wednesday's game three.
With his team up 4-3 late in the third, Bussi made not only the save of the playoffs but possibly the best all season long. With it, the goaltender may have - literally - saved their season.
After starting the season with the Maine Mariners of the ECHL, the 24-year-old played his way to the AHL starter. In 32 games for Providence, Bussi collected a 22-5-4 record, with a 2.40 GAA, a .924 SV% and one shutout.
