Following their opening night game against the Washington Capitals, Boston Bruins head coach Marco Sturm ended up sending a top player a direct message.

According to Marco Sturm, he thought that Elias Lindholm was stellar for the Boston Bruins in their first game of the season.
Sturm stated that he was impressed with the forward following the win, but there is some things he wants to see Lindholm improve on.

Lindholm needs to drive the play more, but was really impressive

The new head coach was super impressed with how Lindholm played, but stated he wants to see him drive the play more, especially as a centerman.
«Damn, he was good,» Sturm said about Lindholm, as seen on NESN's postgame coverage. «Both of them (Pastrnak and Lindholm) were excellent. Not just on the power play. Five on five. They played a pretty simple game, straightforward. They used their speed through the middle.

«That's what I want to see a little more of him,» Sturm added. «Not just wait for Pasta and the other guys right beside him. I want him to drive the bus a little bit more and go back to the Calgary days, where I saw him take charge.»

In the Bruins 3-1 win, Elias Lindholm had a goal and an assist, and Sturm was happy to see him playing a more aggressive game.
Last season, Lindholm struggled in his first year with the Boston Bruins, scoring just 17 goals, and 30 assists for 47 points.
The Boston Bruins signed Lindholm to a seven-year $54.25 million deal, and had high expectations that he did not live up to.
Now, the Bruins are set to take on the Chicago Blackhawks tonight for their season opener.
