Bruins goaltender Jeremy Swayman speaks on the lowered expectations entering the new year

Evidently, the Boston Bruins are in a bit of a strange spot entering the 2025/26 NHL season, as they missed the postseason last campaign and have been working on retooling their roster all offseason.

While the B's will be heading into the new season with more stability, due to the fast they significantly bolstered the depth on their roster and hired a new head coach, Marco Sturm.

However, heading into the new campaign, expectations exactly high for this team.

Yet, even with that narrative surrounding this Original Six franchise, starting net minder, Jeremy Swayman, doesn't seem to be concerned.

Despite Swayman knowing the Boston Bruins' campaign last season wasn't their best, he is confident that the team, can exceed expectations in the upcoming season.

On Thursday, September 4, Jeremy Swayman stated the following:

«I think that we have an endless belief mindset, and that's gotta be set from day one,» Swayman said when speaking to reporters on Thursday. «We can't go in the future, we can't predict what's gonna happen, but the thing is that we can control what we can control, right here, right now.»

He continued:

«How we're practicing, how we're training, and getting ourselves prepared for an NHL season. I'm gonna take it day by day, and I know that we all will, and when we find success, we're gonna roll with it.»

Although Jeremy Swayman seems decently confident on how the Boston Bruins' upcoming campaign will erupt, it all starts with him returning to his previous All-Star form in the net.

As he clearly believes the Bruins can take that step forward, yet, his struggles last year reflected on the organization's standings immensely.
