Bruins head coach Marco Sturm revealed the real reason Hampus Lindholm was named a captain

Everyone knew that entering the 2025-26 NHL regular season, the Boston Bruins weren't announcing an official captain, but ahead of their game, they announced a new captain.
Today though, the Boston Bruins ended up announcing a new alternate captain, and it came as a surprise to many.
It was surprising to some people due to his health problems he's had in the past, and people aren't sure if he will stay healthy for a full season.
Leading up to the game, head coach Marco Sturm revealed the real reason on why the Bruins announced him as a captain.
Why Lindholm was named a captain
The
Bruins are looking for players that will be good leaders this season, and according to head coach Marco Sturm, Lindholm is that guy.
Sturm stated that he deserved being named a captain, he wants to win and wants to make a difference to the team.

The Boston Bruins are now preparing to take on the Washington Capitals in a couple of hours in their season opener.
One big change will be that they now have three captains entering the season instead of just two.
