Bruins defenseman Mason Lohrei had an interesting way to respond to head coach Marco Sturm after being benched for five games.
At the beginning of the year, Lohrei was producing well offensively for the Bruins but struggled big time defensively.
Due to this, head coach Marco Sturm pulled him out of the lineup, as they expected more from him.
Well, Lohrei did exactly that.
Lohrei let his game speak for itself
Charlie McAvoy did not travel to Toronto with the Boston Bruins, meaning it opened up a roster spot for Mason Lohrei, and Lohrei took full advantage of the opportunity.
In his return to the lineup,
Lohrei played 14:49 of ice time, where he picked up two assists, had zero giveaways, and had a plus-2 rating.
Kudos to Mason Lohrei for playing solid in his return to the lineup. 14:49 TOI, 2 assists, ZERO giveaways, and a +2 rating. That's how you respondond after getting taken out of the lineup #NHLBruins
Along with that, Lohrei was the most impactful player on the Bruins' impact card during their game against the Leafs.
Because of how he played in his return to the lineup, it seems like Lohrei has his roster spot back with the Bruins.
Today during practice, it appeared that Lohrei was taking reps on the Bruins third defensive pairing and will be in the lineup against the Leafs tomorrow night.
