Rumor: Boston Bruins acquire a former first-round pick from the Philadelphia Flyers

Things are starting to turn around for the Boston Bruins. They currently sit second in the Atlantic Division after beating the Toronto Maple Leafs 5-3 in their recent game to extend their winning streak to six games.

After beating the Toronto Maple Leafs, the Bruins improved to 10-7-0 on the season, and despite being shorthanded, they found a way to extend their winning streak to six games.

Earlier in the season the Bruins were sitting with a 3-6-0 record but have since turned things around and given fans a reason to want to watch games once again.

Due to how the Bruins are playing right now, it's fair to wonder if they are going to add players to their roster this season. Boston still has a hole in their top six, and adding another skilled winger could be the difference in them being serious contenders.

Recently, Flyers winger Owen Tippett has been involved in trade rumors, and this is a player the Bruins should inquire about.

Tippett is just 26 years old, and the former first-round pick is just entering his prime, making him a perfect fit for the Bruins.

This season hasn't been his best, having just one point in his last nine games, but he started off the season hot with five goals in six games.

Last season, Tippett scored 20 goals and has recorded at least 43 points in all of his last three seasons. In 2023-24 he recorded a career high in goals with 28, assists with 25, and points with 53 in 78 games.

Adding him into a more veteran team like the Bruins could see his numbers improve big time.

It's unclear what the Bruins would have to give up to acquire him, but they should at least be interested if he is made available.
