The Boston Bruins and Toronto Maple Leafs ended up combining for a trade last season, and a statement was just made on it.

Bruins general manager Don Sweeney shocked fans last season during the NHL trade deadline whenever he traded away a bunch of big-name players.
Some of the more notable players traded away were Brad Marchand, Trent Frederic, Justin Brazeau, and Charlie Coyle.
Another player Sweeney traded away was Brandon Carlo, who was sent to the Toronto Maple Leafs.
In return, the Boston Bruins received Fraser Minten, along with some picks.
Last night, the two teams ended up matching up against each other for the first time since they made this trade, and it seems like there is one clear winner.

Minten makes a statement in first game vs former team

During the Bruins' 5-3 win against the Maple Leafs, Fraser Minten made a statement by scoring a goal and even getting a huge compliment from head coach Marco Sturm.
Minten scored the last goal of the game, basically making sure that the Leafs weren't going to be able to come back.
Following the game, head coach Marco Sturm had some shocking comments regarding Minten's game.
Sturm stated that he thought Minten was the Bruins' best player in his return to Toronto.
Bruins Marco Sturm said he thought Fraser Minten was Boston's best player tonight vs Toronto.
Entering the game, the Bruins were shorthanded but ended up coming out with the win to extend their winning streak to six games.
