Boston Bruins president Cam Neely just released a conflicting statement regarding the organizations off-season plans.
According to Boston Bruins insider Jim McBride of The Boston Globe, Cam Neely stated that "everything is on the table" this off-season after what has been a very disappointing season for the Boston Bruins.
During an exclusive interview, Cam Neely acknowledged that this season has seen some unusual circumstances with the Bruins trading multiple key players like Brad Marchand, along with a coaching change mid-season, and how badly the team has performed all year long.
He did confirm that the Bruins will not be entering a full-scale rebuild during the off-season, but instead it will be more of a re-tool despite selling off some big players at the NHL trade deadline like Brad Marchand, Brandon Carlo, Charlie Coyle, and Trent Frederic.
«I don't think we need to really strip this down,» he said. «Hopefully we can replace some of those pieces and get us back to where we want to be, which is competing for Stanley Cups.»
If Neely is stating that everything is on the table though, that means they could possibly explore the option of trading one of the two, or even both of them this off-season.
Neely and Don Sweeney also stated that they are set to explore all avenues this off-season indicating that Pastrnak, or McAvoy could end up getting traded.
