Former Bruin Charlie Coyle breaks his silence by revealing the exact moment he knew he was being traded from Boston, and it's messy.
Following the 4 Nations Faceoff in late February, it became extremely apparent that the Boston Bruins were unfortunately not going to make their way into an Eastern Conference playoff spot.
This ultimately left general manager, Don Sweeney, and the rest of the Boston Bruins' front office to make some hard decisions: to keep things the same or to sell.
The conclusion, the Bruins made it clear it was time to sell, and honestly it was the right call.
During the NHL trade deadline, which took place on March 7, GM Don Sweeney made sure not to waste any time, as he quickly starting a fire sale by deading Justin Brazeau the night before, where this player was sent to the Minnesota Wild.
After this dealing erupted, things then really picked up the next afternoon.
Where the Boston Bruins departed with some major cornerstone pieces, such as their long-time veteran and captain, Brad Marchand, forward Charlie Coyle, and defenseman Brandon Carlo.
And while it was it was a successful trade deadline, as the Bruins did in fact receive some key pieces in return, it has been revealed by one specific player that he knew his fate prior to the deadline.

When the Boston Bruins began moving players, Coyle sounded as though he wasn't surprised.
«The writing was on the wall,» Coyle stated to the Boston Globe. «We just weren't playing that well and time was running out.»
