Edmonton Oilers to steal a goaltender from the Boston Bruins: A trade is the only way it will work

New details have emerged on the Edmonton Oilers stealing a goaltender from the Boston Bruins, and it looks like if they want one, they are going to have to trade for him.
If the Edmonton Oilers do want Michael DiPietro in their crease, they are going to have to trade for him instead of relying on him to hit the waiver wire.
DiPietro had a breakout year with Providence last season, finishing the year with a .927 save percentage in over 50 games.
Both Swayman and Korpisalo are looking to have bounce back seasons, and right now there is no room for DiPietro on the roster, so a trade could very well happen.
Bruins to trade DiPietro?
According to Allan Mitchell of The Athletic, waiting for the Boston Bruins to place DiPietro on waivers is not an option.
If the Bruins did end up sending him to the AHL, he would need to pass waivers, and the chances that a team claims him before the Edmonton Oilers get a chance to is very likely.
The reality to this, is that if Stan Bowman actually does want him, he will have to work out a deal with Don Sweeney.
