Trusted NHL insider confirmed the Boston Bruins are actively trying to trade an unexpected forward
This off-season, the Boston Bruins have been a team involved in a bunch of trade rumors, and now it was just confirmed by an NHL insider that they are actively looking to move on from an unexpected forward.
Boston had one of the more disappointing seasons last year that ended up leading to them trading away a bunch of key players
including captain Brad Marchand.
Now they are currently left in a very weird spot moving forward.
Their roster has some talent, but they are looking towards the future meaning some more trades could happen before the beginning of the new season.
A couple of players that have heavily been in trade speculation this off-season are
Joonas Korpisalo, and
Pavel Zacha, but now Casey Mittelstadt has entered the conversation.
Bruins looking to trade Casey Mittelstadt
The Bruins ended up acquiring Mittelstadt in a trade with the Colorado Avalanche, that saw
Charlie Coyle go the other way.
Mittelstadt showed some promise in his 18 games with the Boston Bruins, scoring 4 goals, 2 assists for 6 points.
NHL insider Jimmy Murphy recently revealed that the Boston Bruins weren't really interested in Mittelstadt, and they could look to trade him now because of it:
"I don't know how many rumors he's been in, but I've been hearing [Casey] Mittelstadt could be on the move again since before the Bruins season even ended. There was a common feeling that he wasn't their main target when they traded for him; Zellers and the second-round draft pick were."
With the Bruins looking to retool, moving on from him would make sense, and there would be plenty of contending teams in the mix for him.
