Boston Bruins superstar David Pastrnak has finally spoken out on the organizations choice to not name a captain entering the 2025-26 season.

Don Sweeney ended up opting to trade a bunch of big named players after the organization had a terrible season last year.
One of the most notable players traded was captain Brad Marchand. Marchand was traded to the Florida Panthers, where he would go on to win another Stanley Cup with them.
Marchand has been celebrating his Stanley Cup victory all summer, while the Boston Bruins on the other hand have been trying to make their team competitive once again.
Many believed that the Boston Bruins were going to replace Brad Marchand, and announce a new captain entering the new season, but that isn't going to happen.
The Bruins confirmed that they will be entering the new season without a captain.

Pastrnak speaks on not being named captain of the Boston Bruins

In a recent interview with a Czech outlet, David Pastrnak issued a statement on not being named captain:
"Nothing changes. It wouldn't change if I had the C or Charlie McAvoy. We're all in this together, we still have guys in the locker room who've won the Stanley Cup."

«I know I'm a leader and Boston's game will depend on me. We have to continue to work together, improve and help the young guys.»

"Going into this year, we're both going to have A's. That's what I know. I don't think there's any fire under them to do anything with that. And guess what? That's totally fine."
Despite the Bruins having a 33-39-10 record last season, Pastrnak ended up finishing the year 3rd in points with 43 goals, 63 assists and 106 points.
