Elliotte Friedman Just Confirmed The Fate Of Two Bruins Players After Sweeney Made Them Available For Free

With the Boston Bruins being one of the worst teams in the NHL since the trade deadline, Don Sweeney decided to make some changes on Sunday.

Sunday afternoon, Boston Bruins General Manager Don Sweeney announced that both Patrick Brown, and Vinni Lettier were being placed on waivers, making them available to all 31 other teams for free if they put in a waiver claim for them.

Brown, and Lettieri both got recalled by the Boston Bruins following the NHL trade deadline, and at first the Bruins looked good beating both the Tampa Bay Lightning, and the Florida Panthers.

Since then the Bruins have not won a game and have lost 8 straight. Not only have they lost 8 straight, but they have lost some games to some really bad teams, and got embarrassed including a 6-2 loss to the Anaheim Ducks, and a 3-1 loss to the San Jose Sharks.

Offense has been a problem for the Bruins, and Sweeney is making some changes to his bottom six by taking Brown, and Lettieri off the roster.

Since it's past the 2 p.m. ET deadline for waivers, Elliotte Friedman revealed that everyone from yesterday that was placed on waivers has cleared.

Meaning they will likely report back to the Providence Bruins in the American Hockey League.

The Bruins made another roster transaction today calling up enforcer Jeffrey Viel on an emergency recall, likely meaning that another Bruins forward is going to be questionable for their game tomorrow against the Washington Capitals.
