Ex-boston bruins fan favourite already in trouble with new team after having a closed door meeting

A former Boston Bruins forward sure thought he was on route to a better franchise when leaving the organization at the National Hockey League's March 7th trade deadline, but that has been all but true so far with his new club.

The Oilers have deeply struggled in their close-out of the NHL regular season, and find themselves battling several injuries with star players like Connor McDavid, Leon Draisaitl and Mattias Ekholm.

Before facing off against the Los Angeles Kings tonight at 10:00 p.m at Crypto.com arena, the Oilers held their players accountable, including former Boston Bruins forward Trent Frederic who's only tallied one point in four playoff games this season, and is also holding a plus/minus rating of -1.

According to Sportsnet, the Oilers held a meeting which demanded better from Frederic and his teammates.

This came after the Oilers were dominated in the first period, with Frederic's fourth line serving little to no purpose and not giving Edmonton the kind of momentum a fourth line should be providing throughout the playoffs.

Oddly enough stars Connor McDavid, Leon Draisaitl and an odd linemate of Frederic, Mattias Janmark, were held back from the team meeting, clearly signalling Frederic and the rest need to get their play together if they want to make it past the first round.

Game 4 finished in the former Bruins forward with a strong win, and they now look to build momentum into tonight's must-win game.
