A trusted NHL insider, Elliotte Friedman, has just confirmed the future of former Bruins forward, Trent Frederic, within Boston, and it's surprising.
Trent Frederic signed with the Boston Bruins in the 2016 NHL Draft in the 1st-round (29th overall), and spent several years within the organization prior to his unexpected trade that erupted this season.
The Boston Bruins organization unexpectedly departed with their former Bruin this past 2024/25 NHL Trade Deadline in a three-team trade, where he was acquired by the Edmonton Oilers.
However, Frederic is in the final season of his two-year, $4.6M contract ($2.3M average annual value) and will become an unrestricted free agent this off-season, on July 1.
And new insight was announced by a trusted NHL insider, unveiling Frederic's expected future, and that the former Bruin is set to close in on an extension with the Oilers.

This ultimately suggests that the Boston Bruins will no longer be a home for this former Bruin, and Frederic is seemingly in a great position within the league.
At the moment, the 27-year old is currently with a huge contenting team as the Edmonton Oilers are in the Stanley Cup Finals against the Florida Panthers.
