Although Toronto may be a surprising destination for the organization's all-time rival, Marchand, as he is 5-0 against the Maple Leafs in Game 7s in his career (and, in fact, he is the first player in NHL history to defeat the same franchise in that manner five times).
However, insider, Nick Kypreos, confirmed that Brad Marchand is becoming a target for Toronto.
Reporter Dave Litman of
nhltraderumours.me revealed that the St. Louis Blues are also seeking to acquire a player like Marchand, which could easily make him a target.
«Jeremy Rutherford noted in The Athletic this week that St. Louis GM Doug Armstrong has interest in acquiring «a 200-foot offensive player.» Rutherford went on to describe
Mitch Marner and
Sam Bennett as the top targets, but perhaps Marchand, who certainly fits that 'two-way player' description, would be a nice backup plan.» Stated Litman.
Marchand is fitting nicely into the Panthers lineup and it has been suggested that the organization would be interested in signing this veteran on a contract this summer.
The only sticking point would be the money aspect for Florid, as they have $19M in cap space to play with, but have multiple pendings UFA's that would be a higher priority for the organization to retain.
That being said, plenty of organization's are suggested to show interest in former Boston Bruins veteran captain, Brad Marchand, however, it is uncertain where this forward will land this offseason.
