The Boston Bruins' former head coach, Jim Montgomery, has broke his silence following his new organization, the St. Louis Blues, losing their second game of their playoff series.
The Bruins fired Montgomery in the beginning of Boston's 2024/25 NHL season, something that is still very controversial within the hockey world, as many are uncertain as to why the team's head coach was fired from the organization in the first place.
Despite Boston's reasoning behind the madness, the former Bruins coach has been suggested to be flourishing with the Blues, until recently, as the St. Louis have endured their second loss of the postseason, and Montgomery doesn't seem too pleased.
According to NHL.com Montgomery stated:
«Winnipeg made one more play than us. Both games. Shots are dead even. So, they're just making one more play and their best players are making them,»
He continued:
«I thought we had good puck pressure on the play up top and I think that play should be killed behind the net by us. And then we've got to be able to cover. We want to force the puck up high versus allowing 81 (Connor) to get a shot from the hash marks.»
Despite the frustration that lingers behind starting off postseason contention with two losses, Montgomery continues to dissect how the team can excel throughout their next two games.
«Obviously they're getting a couple of extra goals in the third. I don't know, other than that, just continue to make sure we push as a group all three periods. That's the biggest thing, putting together 60 full ones.» Montgomery stated.
