Former Boston Bruins defenseman's career takes an unexpected turn for the worst
A recent announcement revealed that former Boston Bruin defenseman, Matt Grzelcyk's NHL career has taken an unexpected turn for the worst.
Grzelcyk ended up leaving the Boston Bruins organization in free agency following the 2023-24 season.
This did not surprise many people, especially considering he had a tough last couple of years with the organization.
Mainly due to injuries, which held him out of the lineup for good chunks of the season.
Of course,
Grzelcyk would have a healthy season, appearing in all 82 games for the Penguins where he scored one goal, but set new career highs with 39 assists and 40 points with his new team.
Grzelcyk's career takes a turn
After opting to not take Matt Grzelcyk back for another year, he is shockingly one of the top remaining free agents still in the market.
Following the season that he had, it's pretty surprising to see that he is still left empty handed with no deal in place.
At this rate, it may come down to the wire, or we could see a team offer him a PTO, which would not be ideal for the former Bruins defenseman.
"Sometimes, it's not the worst thing to do. It's a little bit uneasy at times, but when you sit down and you can see exactly what teams have now," Fish said. "When you wait a little bit and can say, 'Well, this is definitely going to be a good spot for me.''
