A recent announcement confirmed that a former Boston Bruins defenseman has officially signed a new contract.
The Boston Bruins added a defenseman during the 2022 off-season, signing
Connor Carrick to a one-year, two-way contract, and it proved to be beneficial for the team.
Carrick was signed to bring in some defensive depth down in the American Hockey League with the Providence Bruins, and he did just that.
He was an important piece for the American Hockey League Providence Bruins group in 2022-23, going on to appear in 63 games with the Providence Bruins, he recorded six goals, 44 points, 52 penalty minuets and was a plus-15 rating in that span.
At the end of the 2022-23 season, Carrick would end up making his first and only appearance with the
Boston Bruins and picked up an assists along with two shots, and was a plus-3 in 16:54 of ice time.
This game would also be the last time that he would play a regular season game at the NHL level.
After leaving the Boston Bruins organization in the 2023 off-season, he would spent the last two seasons just in the American Hockey League. Carrick played in 133 games between the Coachella Valley Firebirds, and the Bakersfield Condors during that time, scoring 27 goals, and 75 points with a plus-17 rating.
Former Bruin Signs A New Contract
It seems like Carrick is done with the American Hockey League, and is heading overseas. A recent announcement revealed that former
Bruins blueliner has signed a two-year deal with the HC Lugano of the Swiss National League that begins in the 2025-26 season.
The 31-year old will give the HC Lugano's blueline a big boost as he can bring his experience he got in the NHL, and could be a difference maker for the team.
