Trade: Boston Bruins To Acquire $68 Million Star In A Blockbuster Trade With The New York Rangers
Both the Rangers, and Bruins were terrible teams this season, and were both at the bottom of the league in standings. Boston Bruins General Manager Don Sweeney is looking to retool this summer, and the Rangers are looking to do the same things.
With that, there is a chance both teams may combine for a trade that would address needs for both teams.
The Boston Bruins are looking to bring in some young talent, along with some scoring wingers.
After finishing 28th in the league this season and having a 33-39-10 this season, they could use some new pieces.
Don Sweeney stated that the Bruins will be looking to make some big moves in the off-season, and one could be acquiring
Mika Zibanejad from the New York Rangers.
Boston To Acquire Zibanejad From The Rangers
The Boston Bruins have the cap space this off-season to make multiple big moves, and really improve their team heading into the 2025-26 season, and one of those moves could be acquiring Rangers $68 million star forward in Zibanejad.
Don Sweeney would also more than likely get a second-round pick in return as well, as long as the Rangers don't retain any salary, and it's hard to see the Rangers wanting to do that since they are strapped for cap.
The Bruins have been looking for a 1st-line center ever since Bergeron retired, and acquiring
Zibanejad would exactly do that. He would more than likely be placed on the top line with
David Pastrnak.
If not, he would play 2nd-line at worst, and would perfectly address the Bruins need for center depth in the off-season.
