Former Boston Bruins Fan Favourite Reportedly A Top Candidate For Head Coaching Position

The Boston Bruins are currently in the middle of searching for their next head coach, and a recent report revealed that a former fan favourite has emerged as a top candidate for the job.
According to several reports, there are multiple people interested in taking the Boston Bruins head coach, but a recent report revealed that ex-Boston Bruin Marco Sturm has emerged as a top candidate.
Recently, Elliotte Friedman revealed that former Boston Bruin Marco Sturm has a "real chance" at becoming the next head coach of the Boston Bruins on his latest episode of Sportsnet's 32 Thoughts.
"I think Sturm has a real chance in Boston," Friedman said. "So, again, I think he may have options, especially depending on what Boston decides to do... Boston has interviewed Sturm, and I think they like Sturm... I think Sturm has a chance there. We'll see. I wouldn't say that's a done deal by any stretch, but I think he's got a chance. We'll see."
Multiple Teams Interested In Sturm
Friedman did also reveal that there are multiple teams interested in Sturm as the next head coach, and stated that the Vancouver Canucks were a team that interviewed Sturm and was impressed by him.
"They've [Canucks] also interviewed Marco Sturm," Friedman said. "I heard the Canucks were very happy with that interview."
Since then, the Vancouver Canucks ended up hiring a head coach in Adam Foote, so that takes them out of the question for Strum. It is unclear if there are any other teams interested in Sturm, but it's clear the Bruins are very interested in him.
Sturm played in 302 games over five seasons with the Boston Bruins from 2005-06 to 2009-10 where he scored 106 goals, 193 points and was a plus-24 rating.
