After being heavily linked to the Boston Bruins over the past couple of weeks, NHL insider Elliotte Friedman has just confirmed Rick Tocchet's fate with the Boston Bruins.
The Bruins have been linked to multiple head coaches so far in the off-season like Mike Sullivan, Rick Tocchet and Jay Woodcroft.
Mike Sullivan ended up taking the head coaching job of the New York Rangers, and Tocchet immediately jumped to the top candidate for the Boston Bruins.
Just yesterday, Daren Dreger revealed that the Boston Bruins along with the Flyers, and Kraken were all top contenders to land Tocchet, but now his fate has been confirmed.
Strong indications this week Rick Tocchet will soon land another NHL head coaching job. Philly, Boston, Seattle believed to be among the top contenders. The Flyers want to be aggressive. Good fit.
Elliotte Friedman Reveals Rick Tocchet's Fate With The Boston Bruins
Elliotte Friedman just confirmed that Rick Tocchet will not be the next head coach of the Boston Bruins, as he is reportedly signing with the Philadelphia Flyers:

NHL insider Frank Seravalli also went on to confirm this as well stating the Flyers are closing in on making Tocchet their next head coach. He also stated that nothing is official yet, but they are going through the process and it will be done soon.

Following this, Flyers insider Anthony SanFilippo revealed some more information on the situation and revealed that he is signing a five year, $25 million contract with the Philadelphia Flyers.
Rick Tocchet will be the next head coach of the Flyers. Sounds like the deal is in the range of five years, $25 million total.
This is another head coach off the board for the Bruins.
