Four Boston Bruins Players Were Just Confirmed To Be Missing The Game Today Vs The San Jose Sharks
Boston Bruins head coach Joe Sacco just revealed that four players are expected to miss the game today following a last minute announcement.
Looking to bounce back today after their embarrassing 6-5 shootout loss to the Ottawa Senators, the Boston Bruins are going to have to do so without four players after Joe Sacco confirmed that they will not be in the lineup today.
Interim head coach Joe Sacco also confirmed some last minute line changes with the four players out of the lineup for the Bruins today.
The first big change Joe Sacco made was
Joonas Korpisalo getting the start in nets for the Bruins today, after
Jeremy Swayman was expected to get the start.
Joe Sacco confirmed just moments before puck drop that
Trent Frederic will also not be available for the Bruins game today as he is out with an illness.
It was confirmed that Matt Poitras is going to center the Bruins top line with
Brad Marchand and
Charlie Coyle, giving him a big opportunity today.
From Joe Sacco ahead of puck drop:
#NHLBruins notes from Sacco:
- Korpisalo starts in net
- Frederic is out with an illness, Wahlstrom will take his place next to Elias Lindholm and Vinni Lettieri
- Poitras will center Marchand and Coyle
- McAvoy, Hampus Lindholm and Koepke are all still out with injuries.
Taking on the San Jose Sharks, the Boston Bruins have a good opportunity to get back into the win column today after the Sharks have lost their last 5 out of 6 games.
Puck drop is scheduled for 1 p.m. ET when the Boston Bruins host the San Jose Sharks at TD Garden.
