Gary Bettman Made A Massive Announcement That Is Going To Affect Multiple Boston Bruins Players

Wednesday night, moments before game one of the Four Nations Faceoff between Canada and Sweden, Gary Bettman announced that the World Cup of Hockey is making a comeback.

The NHL Commissioner announced that the World Cup of Hockey is making a return in 2028.

There has been a lot of speculation over the past couple of months surrounding the World Cup of Hockey, with reports of the National Hockey League wanting to host the event again without the IIHF.

It was revealed that the World Cup of Hockey will be hosted in 2028, and is going to work every two years outside of the Olympics.

Gary Bettman also revealed that they will be getting rid of 'Team Europe' and 'Team North American', and instead replacing them with just nations. Gary Bettman also promised that there will be at the minimum, eight nations competing in the next event.

The obvious teams to be included are going to be the United States, Canada, Sweden, Finland, and there is a chance that Russia will make a return, along with Slovakia, Switzerland, and Czech Republic.

Although there wasn't much information revealed, the return of NHL players to the Olympics and other tournaments is great for the sport.
