Hated Panthers players states Bruins fan wanted to 'kill them'
Former Florida Panthers defenseman Brandon Montour revealed that Boston fans were ready to kill them.
His statement was revealed on the Missing Curfew Podcast As the host asked him what the experiences were like playing against the Boston Bruins at TD Garden during the playoffs. The Panthers and the Bruins faced off against one another two years in a row to which the Panthers beat the Bruins both times.
«(The Panthers) have played the toughest arenas the last two years,» Montour told the «Missin Curfew» podcast. «You go down the list from Boston, how crazy it is there. We were walking or we're driving to the games and all the fans are outside flipping us off, telling us to (explicit) off.»
«You go back to Boston for a repeat, they want to kill us,» Montour said.
Both series were intense and at times violent as both teams clashed. Montour has now moved on from the Florida Panthers and had signed a new $50 million contract with the Seattle Kraken.
The Panthers have lost a few key players throughout this free agency which was expected. However, it remains to be seen on how they will handle their team going forward with some of the key players no longer there.
Both teams will meet each other early in the new season as the Panthers will raise their Stanley Cup banner on October 8th which will host the Boston Bruins. Several days later October 14th, the Panthers will be in town at TD Garden.
