Jeremy Swayman heading to the Edmonton Oilers? An unexpected turn of events just surfaced
Jeremy Swayman ultimately ended up winning the Boston Bruins starting crease after his performance during the playoffs in 2023-24.
Heading into the 2024-25 season, the Boston Bruins needed to make a decision, and opted to trade goaltender
Linus Ullmark to the Ottawa Senators.
Swayman struggled really bad in his first year as a starting goaltender for the Boston Bruins, having a 22-29-7 record, with a 3.11 GAA and a .892 SV%.
Edmonton Oilers happy with their goaltending situation?
After losing in back-to-back Stanley Cup Finals, there was speculation that the Edmonton Oilers wanted to upgrade their goaltending situation, especially since it's a big weak spot for them.
There were also rumours stating that the Edmonton Oilers tried to make a trade with the Boston Bruins for Jeremy Swayman during the season, but nothing came out of it.
Now, it's unclear whether or not the Oilers are going to try and trade for a better goaltender, as a recent report stated that they may be satisfied with their situation:
John Shannon: Re Oilers: At a certain point...do you still want to address what's gonna happen in goal? I would think that's probably the biggest question; at the same time, talking to Stan [Bowman] Monday, he seemed quite satisfied - Inside Sports (7/24)
