During the Boston Bruins' media day, General Manager Don Sweeney addressed the ongoing situation with Danton Heinen, shedding light on the complexity of the decision-making process. Sweeney stated,
"We're still considering our options regarding the potential signing of Danton [Heinen]. He's been with us on a PTO, and he's certainly made it a tough decision for us. We'll be making the final roster decisions right down to the wire on Monday."
However, despite their intentions, the Bruins faced a hurdle in the form of the salary cap, preventing them from making an immediate decision. Presently, there's a growing belief within the team that Heinen will eventually be signed, but it may require some creative cap maneuvers by Sweeney.
As per information received, this resolution might not materialize until the weekend, potentially keeping Patrick Brown as the 13th forward for the team up to their second game of the season on Saturday night, or even beyond it.
