Newly Acquire Defenseman Reveals His True Colors Towards The Boston Bruins Organization And It's Surprising

On March 7th, 2025 the Boston Bruins needed to bolster their blue line, and that came at the expense of a future 4th-round pick which Don Sweeney gladly paid the Sabres for Jokiharju.

Jokiharju has only played 4 games in Boston this season but has found himself contributing early, with 1-point ( 1 assist) in that time frame.

The team is in flux right now due to the fact GM Don Sweeney has begun to tear down the organization to its studs.

That meant sending away major pieces like Charlie Coyle, Brandon Carlo, and even Brad Marchand.

Despite this harsh truth, Jokiharju wants to work out a new contract with the Bruins, the second team he's played for this season.

Jokiharju's $3.1 million AAV contract expires at the end of the 2024-2025 NHL season and will be playing his best hockey in the hopes Don Sweeney could reward him for his hard work.

Given Sweeney's track record, it's difficult to tell which Bruins players he will prioritize first in the lineup.

But instead of signing Brad Marchand, he decided to trade him instead.

If I were Jokiharju instead of hoping to remain on a sinking ship, maybe he should work to find a new deal with a team that could appreciate his efforts after playing two decent seasons in Buffalo.
