Does Don Sweeney have the gall to add another great prospect to the Bruins pipeline? The Tampa Bay Lightning could lose Isaac Howard, as they were unable to sign him to an ELC due to cap issues.

The Boston Bruins could work the phones and make a trade for Hobey Baker Award-winning prospect, Isaac Howard.
The forward is returning to Michigan State after the team failed to sign him to an ELC. The two couldn't see eye to eye on a deal, according to Howard.
is decision not to sign with Tampa was reportedly due to the fact that he & the Lightning "weren't simpatico on where everything stood at this time", according to Elliotte Friedman.

This could lead the Hobey Baker Award winner to become a free agent in 2026 if the Lightning once again fail to sign him to an entry-level contract.
With the fallout making its rounds in the media, GM Julien Brisebois of the Lightning could seek a deal with another NHL team to put an end to this scandal once and for all.
GM Don Sweeney would be remiss if he didn't take a shot at trying to acquire the former first-round pick.
The 31st overall selection won the Hobey Baker Award in 2025, and could be another forward who could be a piece in the ongoing Bruins rebuild. It's plausible to think he could find himself in the lineup next season, given how much the Bruins lack star talent.
This season, he posted 52 points (26 goals, 26 assists) in 37 games with the Michigan State Spartans.
