The Boston Bruins are finally getting closer to hiring a new head coach, and an NHL reporter just revealed that a new head coach has entered the conversation to become the head coach of the organization.

Over the past couple of days things have been heating up regarding the Boston Bruins hiring a new head coach and now they are a step closer to naming their 30th head coach of the organization.
It was just recently revealed that Washington Capitals assistant coach Mitch Love, and former Boston Bruins fan favourite Marco Sturm were finalist for the job, but now the Athletic's Fluto Shinzawa has added a new name to the list.

New Coach Enters The Bruins Head Coaching Conversation

According to Fluto Shinzawa, current Boston Bruins assistant coach Jay Leach has emerged as a top candidate now:
«Jay Leach is a finalist for the Boston Bruins vacant head coaching position, a league source who was granted anonymity to discuss conversations regarding hockey operations personnel told The Athletic,» Shinzawa wrote in a column published Thursday night. «Leach had an in-person interview on Thursday at Warrior Ice Arena.»

Leach was hired to the Bruins coaching staff last season after he spent three years with the Seattle Kraken. It wasn't unfamiliar territory for him considering he was in the Bruins system with their AHL affiliate in Providence for four seasons before leaving and joining the Kraken.
During his time with Providence, he racked up a record of 136-77-16-10 in 239 games as head coach. Multiple Bruins players like Charlie McAvoy, and Jeremy Swayman had Leach as their head coach when playing in Providence.
With multiple conflicting reports, it's unclear who currently is the favourite to land the position.
Just a couple days ago it was reported that Marco Sturm was being hired as the Bruins head coach, but it was later revealed that it was false information, and even though he is a frontrunner, nothing has been official.
Elliotte says Marco Sturm still has another visit with the Bruins. Possible he'll be offered the job there, but might not be a done deal just yet.
