Recent reports have revealed that the Boston Bruins may combine in a blockbuster trade with one of their biggest rivals in the Montreal Canadiens during the off-season.

One big thing the Montreal Canadiens will be looking for this off-season is a second-line center, and the Boston Bruins may have the perfect player for them. GM Kent Hughes has acquired Kirby Dach and Alex Newhook, but both failed to live up to expectations for the Habs 2C.
There have been a lot of rumours surrounding the Boston Bruins, and one of them is they may be looking to move on from Pavel Zacha, and the Canadiens may be the perfect team to acquire him.
Zacha was drafted sixth overall in the 2015 NHL draft, and never really had a breakout season until he came to Boston.
During his first two seasons with the Bruins, Zacha ended up scoring 57 and 59 points which was a big improvement considering he never registered more than 36 points in a season.
Last season his production ended up dipping, scoring just 47 points, but the Boston Bruins whole team had a down year. He still has two years on his contract with a cap hit of just $4.75 million, which could be seen as a bargain especially with the cap hit going up.
Zacha has proved that when paired with some talented players, he can be an offensive threat, and the Montreal Canadiens are loaded with plenty of talent. They are currently looking for someone to play alongside highly touted prospect Ivan Demidov, and Patrik Laine, adding someone with the skill of Zacha to that line could be lethal for the Habs.

Return For Zacha

With the Bruins missing the playoffs for the first time this year since 2016, it's clear some big changes are coming this off-season, and Zacha could be one of the first big moves the Bruins make.
If Sweeney is actually looking to rebuild, or retool, he could easily get a first-round pick from the Canadiens, and if he would prefer a prospect, the Canadiens have a list of highly talented ones they may be willing to move on from.
