Boston Bruins General Manager Don Sweeney officially missed out on another head coach
A recent announcement confirmed that Boston Bruins General Manager Don Sweeney has officially once again missed out on a head coach.
After
firing head coach Jim Montgomery during the 2024-25 season, the Boston Bruins have been searching for a replacement for him, but have missed out on multiple solid head coaches.
Multiple insiders just revealed that another head coach has been taken off the board, as the Seattle Kraken have officially announced their new head coach.
Bruins Miss Out On Another Head Coach
Krakens General Manager Jason Botterill had this to say after the hiring:
#SeaKraken GM Jason Botterill: «We cast a wide net for suitable candidates. What impressed us throughout the interview process was Lane Lambert's strategy and vision for this team.
He was an integral part of the Capitals winning the Cup and the Islanders advancing to two straight Eastern Conference finals. We have full confidence in Lane to lead this team behind the bench."
It doesn't seem like the Boston Bruins had any interest in him, as the most latest reports have revealed that they are interested in Jay Woodcroft, Jay Leach, and Marco Sturm.
Yesterday, on the @sickpodnhl, I reported that Marco Sturm and Jay Leach were frontrunners to become the next HC of the #NHLBruins.
That is still true, but I've since been told by two trusted sources that former #LetsGoOilers HC Jay Woodcroft is too, and may be 'The Frontrunner'
The Boston Bruins and the Pittsburgh Penguins are now the only teams left to not hire a head coach this off-season after the Flyers, Blackhawks, Rangers, and Kraken have all announced new head coaches.
